Langweerder Wielen (Langwarder Wielen)
Langweer
The Langweerder Wielen is located to the west of Joure.
The Langweerder Wielen (Frisian: Langwarder Wielen) are located to the west of Joure. The lake is approximately 3 kilometers long and about one kilometer wide at its widest point. For a long time, the Langweerder Wielen were almost too shallow for recreational activities, but due to the Frisian Lakes Project, dredging of the lake began in 2016. The sand released during dredging was used in the construction of the new junction near Joure.
