The M.S. Boschwad takes you on an excursion towards the seal sandbanks. The seal watching tour leaves the ferry dock just before low tide in order to sail between the sandbanks. After about an hour of sailing, you can disembark on to the sandbank under the supervision of a guide in order to experience the tidal flats for yourself.
During the seal watching tour, in which you sail past places where the seals can be found, there’s also a sandbar excursion at the Engelsmanplaat sandbar, where you can take a walk along the seabed. It’s a walk on hard sand and is accessible for everyone. Sail along for about 3 hours and experience why this beautiful area has become a World Heritage Site.
The Ameland - Schiermonnikoog and Schiermonnikoog - Ameland tour travels along the beautiful east coast of Ameland, the uninhabited Engelsmanplaat and the western point of Schiermonnikoog. Below is the timetable from Schiermonnikoog - Ameland and vice versa.
Take a fast rescue boat along the sandbars, over the Wad and to the North Sea. A fast and spectacular experience. There are also regular stops with information about the Wad. Adventurous and educational at the same time.
