The Groate Kerk in Sint Jacobiparochie will burst at the seams on 25 July, the name day of Saint Jacobus. There is a grand festival that afternoon with music, a premiere of a documentary about pilgrims and the Frisian landscapes, a pilgrimage meal will be served and there is a vesper, a pilgrimage service organised by the Protestant Congregation. The Pilgrims in the light of the Milky Way exposition can also be seen in the Groate Kerk. There’s something for the little pilgrim with the Pilgrimage for youth programme. The Pilgrim festival is also the final celebration of the Camino der Lage landen by Stichting Santiago aan het Wad. All pilgrims who have participated in the Camino celebrate with other interested parties.
