You’ll have the Capital of Culture at your feet when viewing it from the top of the Achmea Tower in the centre of Leeuwarden. Be simultaneously surprised by the exhibition on the work of Abe Bonnema (1926-2001), the Frisian architect who meant so much to Leeuwarden’s appearance.
In collaboration with Achmea, the ir. Abe Bonnema Foundation will open the Panorama Hall at the top of the Abe Bonnema-designed Achmea Tower to visitors every Saturday in 2018. Using large touchscreens and tablets, visitors easily find the most important works by Bonnema in the magnificent view. The floor has wall-to-wall aerial photos of Leeuwarden and Friesland that reinforce the spatial experience. Models, drawings, photographs and concise explanations complete the experience. Those looking for more in-depth substance can access digitally available background information.
