You'll find Cafe de Bak in the award-winning dbieb library in the Blokhuispoort cultural centre- housed in the city's old prison. Grab your first coffee of the day here, the (cell) doors are open from 08:30!
Aside from a cup of tea of coffee, you can also head to de Bak for a tasty lunch, dinner, or borrel. On weekdays, you can also enjoy well-priced and fresh food: for example spare ribs and a saté made in collaboration with Eindloos, and Drink & Eetlokaal Proefverlof.
This collaboration ensures that we serve only the most pure and fair food. We also host the famous VrijMiBo evening: making sure you enter the weekend in the best way, having blown off your steam in De Bak. At the weekend, De Bak is also open and you can always hire the cafe for a private party on Saturday evenings.
