Our campsite sits in the heart of Friesland, on open water and within cycling distance of both Leeuwarden (8km) and Earnewoude (Alde Feanen 6km). Our view across the rolling landscape and the peace make it a unique experience.

The Kooistra family welcome you to their Farm and Camping Gerkema Zathe in Warstiens, Friesland. The campsite is situated in the Alde Feanen nature park in the heart of Friesland, and sits on the Langdeel lake, which has waterways leading from it to Leeuwarden and Eernewouden. We have everything for the hiker, fisher, or cyclist, right on our doorstep! The lake is fully stocked with fish, and is suitable for all experience levels- from hobbyist to sports fisher.

De Alde Feanen nature park is perfect for nature lovers, whether you'd prefer to cycle through forests, or go bird-spoting. A short distance from our campsite, you'll find all manner of cultural excursions, with or without the kids. The farm itself has been run for four generations as a dairy farm, and has an historic and characteristic farmhouse as its backdrop. We've got 100 dairy cows, 20 sheep, and lambing season is the perfect time for young and old to enjoy Gerkema Zathe.

De open tuinen van de Vertakking beslaan ca. 1 ha en bestaan uit o.a. siertuinen, vijvers, een groentetuin, een kruidentuin, pluktuin, boomgaard met wilde flora en dierenverblijven. Ze zijn van maandag t/m zaterdag vrij toegankelijk.
