In the 9th century AD, St. Odulphus came to Friesland to christianize its people. He founded churches and monasteries, started cultivating the land and, by doing so, created the landscape as it is today. The 260-km St. Odulphuspath, comprising 15 stages, shows his legacy. You will walk under ever-changing skies, past the ruins of monasteries, vast pastures and beautiful lakes.

This 13-km Walk around Workum has exclusively been made for ‘Leeuwarden Fryslân 2018 – European Capital Of Culture’. Enjoy the beautiful landscape and grab a moment of reflection along the ‘legacy’ of St. Odulphus.
