The art manifestation InsideOUT Panorama Fryslân 'a landscape of moods' in de Sluisfabriek in Drachten has been extended until August 15, 2021.
Surrounded by a painted canvas of 37 meters long and 2.5 meters high in a Panorama arrangement, you will become acquainted with the world of 100 artists with a psychiatric background. A soundscape with restorative quotes makes the experience more intense. In addition, there is a film in which participants talk about their experience and the meaning of working on this project. It is an art project with a social message: the image of people who use mental health care must improve and the associated taboos should be broken. The project supports (former) clients, but also their relatives/relatives. It contributes to the appreciation of people who struggle daily to stay in balance. It puts the spotlight on special talents. In this exhibition, the person from psychiatry is the inspiration.
The experiences so far have been very positive. People come with their stories, experience comfort, and are impressed by what they see and experience there. It is a place where psychiatry is spoken unreservedly, both by the users of mental health care and by their relatives. And all that in an artistic environment.
There is a partnership with Museum Dr8888. In the exhibition "The painter and his landscape" Museum Dr8888 takes you through the beautiful Frisian landscape and through time. We interweave three timelines with which we show (the view of) the Frisian landscape: those of then, now and in the future. Which places in Friesland did artists want to capture at any cost, what interpretation do contemporary artists give to the landscape and what is their vision for the future? And the Panorama, landscape of moods, is of course also an ode to the landscape!
And last but not least the space in which the Panorama is set up: De Sluisfabriek is an industrial monument and now functions as a meeting and breeding ground where new initiatives and ideas are made possible. The 'Industrial living room' of Drachten. The monumental Sluisfabriek offers space for workshops, workshops, studios, events, and so much more.
