Oranjewoud Festival

Oranjewoud Festival is the only festival in the world where famous musicians sit on your bed and play music to lull you to sleep. Where you can talk out loud with your neighbour during a silent concert and where you can literally float away on the music. The Oranjewoud Festival will be the beating classical heart of Leeuwarden-Friesland 2018 for ten days. International artists bring classical music to the wondrous natural surroundings of Oranjewoud Park. Surprising combinations in a unique location.

Borderless tones
International concerts at special locations, with top musicians from all over Europe. From Nigel Kennedy to Calefax and from Francesco Tristano to Noa Wildschut, they descend here to give concerts from the crack of dawn until the small hours of the night. In beautiful gardens and historic country houses but also in teepees, an underground bunker and giant plastic bubbles.

And then there's the delightful heart of the festival, De Proeftuin. Have a picnic in the grass, listen to music under the trees, see little rabbits hopping about, eat, drink, laugh and relax. Young and old alike will be excellently entertained here.

For connoisseurs and newbies
Whether you're a seasoned concertgoer, a cultural adventurer or on a day out with the whole family, you’ll always find a place at Oranjewoud Festival. You start in the festival heart of De Proeftuin, which is accessible free of charge. Oranjewoud Festival is organized by the eponymous Foundation, under the artistic direction of Yoram Ish-Hurwitz.
