Music theater performance Piano house in the theaters
In the performance Pianohuis by Ella de Jong and Herman Woltman or ella & her man, music and play are mixed into musical theatre. In this musical performance, the audience is part of a child who grows up under the piano. In the house full of instruments, as the girl experiences her piano house, she is looking for connection and comfort.
The story takes place around, on and under a special design by Sanne Danz, a layered wooden object also called 'The piano house'. You may recognize the sense of security you had as a child when you sat under a rug that hangs over two chairs. The girl Lena has that feeling when she sits under the piano. While mom is teaching 'above her', she dreams and fantasizes about papagenos and papagenas. Mozart's song Papageno from Die Zauberflöte forms the beginning of the performance and takes you to the adventures of Lena.
From the show:
There you are. Under Mom's piano. Sounds of Mozart bring you back to this place. Your safe den, The Piano House. You remove the cover from the instrument and remember her playing and the inspiration for the music.
From November, the duo will be touring the province and beyond with this music theater performance. Tickets are now available, check www.ellaandherman.nl for information.
