The photographer Dineke Kaal, from Leeuwarden, is interested in street photography. She often borrows the titles for her photo series from lyrics. Midnight alleys roam is a line from 'L.A. Woman' by The Doors. In the photo exhibit Midnight alleys roam, Kaal shows familiar and lesser-known alleys in Leeuwarden. Alleys where Leeuwarders never go, small alleys that pedestrians indifferently walk past and the alleys of the nightlife.
The colourful Wolvesteeg, the narrow Bagijnesteeg, the dark Reigerstraat and the Doelesteeg on a quiet evening. With her carefully chosen compositions and feeling for light and colour, Kaal brings these and other alleys in Leeuwarden's city centre to life.
The exhibition runs until the 8th of September. Free entry.
