Grietje Postma works in response to life, nature and the landscape around her. She has been using the woodcut reduction technique for this purpose for many years. She loves working in layers of colour, with wood, ink and paper.

GRIETJE POSTMA - WOODCUTS
Grietje Postma (Dronten, 1961) works in response to life, nature and the landscape around her. She has been using the woodcut reduction technique for years, a technique that offers many possibilities but also limitations, for her the best way to get to the essence in her work. She loves working in layers of colour, with wood, ink and paper. This translates into prints with a hushed, harmonious atmosphere. Due to the laboriousness of the technique, only a limited number of prints can be made per year, but with each print new insights are gained, so the work always remains exciting. In the last few years, she has also been experimenting with linoleum, a material that offers other possibilities.
Grietje regularly exhibits her work at home and abroad and her prints have been bought by various companies and institutions.

Grietje Postma will exhibit at Kunstuitleen Friesland from 4 February to 17 March.

Kunstuitleen Friesland is organising a Meet and Greet with Grietje Postma on 25 February from 14:00-16:00.
Opening hours Kunstuitleen Friesland:
Tuesday to Saturday from 12:00 - 18:00.
