As part of Arcadia, a local Arriva bus will be decorated with a graffiti mural, Nature (H)Art, by 13-year-old Senne Weijsters. She wants to see a better world in which we look after the Earth: floods, forest fires and plastic- filled oceans are signs that things are going wrong with nature. As Weijsters looks to the future, she’s sometimes caught between two stools: she may be campaigning for a better planet, but she still loves shopping with friends and eating at McDonald’s. So she’s trying to strike the right balance: she can’t save the whole world, but she can make it a bit better and more beautiful with her work.
Nature (H)Art is one of twelve projects being carried out as part of BROEI, a podium for young artists within Arcadia. Young artists put their ideas and plans into practice, ranging from film and performance to graffiti and spanning the whole of Fryslân.
