Lonesome Cowboys - Over de drempel

There is a Lonesome cowboy in everyone. That part of yourself that you like to hide under your imaginary big hat, jeans and leather cardigan. That which you may doubt and not just talk about. Because you find it too surprising, odd, or maybe even maladaptive. Or precisely because others will not understand. In Lonesome Cowboys we are going to play with: what do you show the outside world, how can you participate in society and what do you prefer to keep very cool but perhaps also to hide and keep for yourself.

(Young) adult participants - people with and without physical, mental and/or mental limitations create a music theatre performance that is completely improvised. Together with professionals in the performing arts, they will work together to create a performance in which poetry, music, song and dance tell a story together.

Lonesome Cowboys falls under one of the nine projects of Overde Drempel (Over the threshold). Over de Drempel is a programme in which culture makers and social initiatives work together on the theme of loneliness. Over de Drempel is part of Arcadia 2022, the hundred-day cultural programme in Leeuwarden and Fryslân. Arcadia is the sequel to Leeuwarden-Fryslân 2018, European Capital of Culture. The approach to loneliness of the Municipality of Leeuwarden has also crossed the threshold.
