Oosterzee is located in the south of the province of Friesland. Up until 2014, Oosterzee was part of the municipality of Lemsterland. The village consists of two parts, Oosterzee-Buren and Oosterzee-Gieterseburg, and has about 900 residents. Oosterzee is located along Friesland’s largest lake: the Tjeukemeer.

THE PERFECT RECREATION VILLAGE
There are plenty of recreational options in Oosterzee. The village is located directly on the south side of the Tjeukemeer and has a sandy beach, three marinas, a towing ramp and a small campsite with laundry and toilet facilities. There is a cycle and walking path right along the lake. Oosterzee has an annual event that takes place every summer, EasterSimmer. This event has many activities and an exciting programme has been put together for all ages.
