Watze and Marja de Vries have a farm with 150 cows on the outskirts of the city IJlst, one of the Frisian Eleven Cities.
The cows are milked by the milking robots, allowing them to choose when and how often they want to be milked. The cows always have access to fresh feed as they are fed by the feeding robot. We consider grazing important, so our cows can choose when and how long they want to be in the pasture during the summer.
These farmers find it important to open their doors to anyone who would like to learn more about the farm. Come and visit the milk tap and the little shop, or sign up for a tour.
Milk Tap
Tap your own fresh raw milk by the quarter or whole liter. Bring your own jug or bottle, or buy a bottle from De Wylde Boerinne.
The Little Shop
In the farm shop, we sell dairy products of our own making, such as quark, yogurt, buttermilk, chocolate milk, and custard pudding. Various types of flour from Mill 't Lam in Woudsend are also available. The shop has a small stock, and it operates on a self-service basis.
Tour
During holidays, tours are given. Children can play games and earn a farm certificate. Check the website for dates or contact us to arrange a date for your group.
Local Farmer
Farm De Wylde Boerinne is a pickup point for the Local Farmer. Every Thursday afternoon, you can pick up the tastiest local products here. Pre-ordering is necessary.
