The windmill that now stands in the Ryptsjerksterpolder was originally located on the grounds of Park Vijversburg. There it was used to pump and drain the land. Only since 1981 has the mill been in the Ryptsjerksterpolder.

Only since 1981 has the mill been in the Ryptsjerksterpolder. As soon as there’s even a hint of frost, you often see this mill on TV in news reports about the first skaters on the ice.
