The old milk factory in Gytsjerk. This former dairy dates back to 1896, when fifteen farmers joined forces to establish the Trynwâlden steam dairy. With 80,000 guilders they built the first steam dairy factory fitted with electric lighting, a real first at the time. Milk was produced here for many years, until the lights went out in 1976 and the factory was given a new purpose. Today, the old factory is home to a variety of businesses. Together, we enjoy the authentic atmosphere of this listed monument and its beautiful location in the middle of the Ryptsjerksterpolder. All of this makes a visit to the former dairy factory well worth it.
