For 80 minutes, you can enjoy the beautiful surroundings of Makkum from the water. You sail with a praam (open boat) on the inland waterways of Makkum, among others.
For the round trips, the Foundation uses a large praam (open tour boat type) called LOIS. The praam can accommodate up to 45 people and is equipped with benches on both sides and tables in the middle. The crew of the Lois consists of enthusiastic volunteers. They provide a relaxed atmosphere on board and are happy to tell you what you can see along the way. There is also an information book on board with a great deal of information about the sailing routes and places of interest in the area.
The area is intersected by many ditches, waterways, and canals. Wide fringes of reed provide the area with a special appearance. If you want to become acquainted with the beautiful surroundings of Makkum from the water, you can choose from the so-called "boarding tours" or rent the Lois entirely for, for example, a family day, staff outing, bachelor party, etc. Catering is possible in consultation, as well as mooring along the way for the well-known Frisian fierljeppen or other old Dutch games!
Departures are on Tuesdays and Thursdays (minimum 10 people). Departures and group arrangements on other days and times are available on request.
