Behind the Van der Valk Hotel in the town of Wolvega there is an attractive natural swimming lake with a small sandy beach and a few play facilities for children.
De Vlinderplas is a simple natural swimming lake in the town of Wolvega. There is a small sandy beach, a shallow area (up to 80 centimetres deep) where children can play in the water with adult supervision, and a deeper portion that is about three metres deep. Amenities include bike parking for cyclists, picnic tables throughout the area, a large lawn where you can picnic and enjoy the sun, and public toilets. Dogs are not allowed.
