Earnewâld
Earnewâld
Earnewâld is a watersports village in the heart of De Alde Feanen National Park, with a rich history.
Take a look
In the past, it was mainly home to fishermen, skippers, farmers and reed cutters. Today, it is a popular destination for watersports enthusiasts. The Princes of Orange used to visit the village frequently, which explains why the name Princenhof still appears in several places.
Discover Earnewâld and visit museums such as It Kokelhûs fan Jan en Sjut or the Skûtsje Museum Earnewâld. Relax by the water or enjoy the atmosphere on a terrace.
The surrounding area offers excellent opportunities for boating, cycling and walking. Cyclists and walkers can cross the water using the Hin & Wer ferry. For routes and information, visit the Earnewâld Tourist Office or the visitor centre of De Alde Feanen National Park.
Just outside the village you will find the Eibertshiem stork station, where storks can be seen nesting high on poles.
