At Minicamping De Zilveren Maan, you stay near the village of De Westereen, on the edge of the Frisian woodlands. The campsite is right beside the fishing waters of De Nije Feart.
You can camp here with your own tent or caravan, or rent a cabin.
Bicycles, rowing boats and canoes are also available for hire, making it easy to explore the surrounding area. The centre of De Westereen (Zwaagwesteinde), with various shops and cafés and restaurants, is within walking distance.
Nature areas near the campsite include the Houtwiel, Sippenfennen and Ottema-Wiersma reserve. The Lauwersmeer area is within cycling distance.
The campsite focuses as much as possible on sustainable and socially responsible practices. Electricity is generated with solar panels, and the business provides a workplace for people who have difficulty finding employment.
