South of Woudsend, since 2007, you can find the Ie Aqueduct: an aqueduct at the intersection of the river De Ie and the N928.
In the past twenty years, as part of the Friesland Lakes Project, five beautiful aqueducts have been built. This ensures that cars and boats do not interfere with each other's traffic, allowing all types of transportation to flow freely. It creates a beautiful and distinctive image: boats and sails seemingly gliding over the land. Cars can now always continue without interruption, and boats do not have to wait for the bridge.
