Mills have captured the imagination for centuries. Who wouldn't want to live for a week or weekend in an old Dutch polder mill? It gives a nostalgic and familiar feeling. Come stay in this mill and discover this 'Dutch Glory feeling'. Naturally authentic and attractive in terms of design, but also with some trendy details. There is something almost magical about sleeping in a mill. Especially when you can look at the magical illuminated wooden gear through the glass roof at night from your comfortable bed in this mill. Furthermore, the mill has a small but modern kitchen. Finally, the beautiful bathroom offers plenty of privacy and a fantastic view over the meadows while showering.
There is a beautiful and peaceful garden around the mill. The garden is truly an experience in itself. Enjoy the bench next to the mill; feel free and forget the time. There are also several seating areas and two sun loungers for lazily dozing off. Have an 'early bird' breakfast on the picnic bench or find another nice spot in the garden, put down your blanket and treats for a cozy private picnic. You could actually spend days in this garden, but if you still want to explore the area, there are two electric bicycles in the shed.
The mill is located next to the nature and recreation area De Groene Ster (also known as De Kleine Wielen), not far from Leeuwarden with a beach where you can swim and sunbathe in the summer. It is surprising to find such a beautiful nature reserve so close to the city. You can walk through the watery and bird-rich area from the mill, past meadows and a small lake.
There is also an excellent golf and mini golf course nearby and you can visit the Aqua Zoo animal park. Grab the car or (electric) bicycle and in about fifteen minutes you will be in the center of Leeuwarden. Here you can enjoy shopping, sit on a terrace or feast your eyes in the Frisian museum. A 'street art' tour and a cruise are also among the countless options. Discover this versatile cultural city of Friesland!
