A special meeting point on the event grounds in the centre of Oudega (SWF). Everyone is there: from the youngest resident, Richtsje Steur, who is only a few weeks old, to Michiel de Jong. At 92, he is currently the oldest resident of Oudega. With 555 portraits, around three quarters of the village take part.
The selfie wall started as a temporary creative village project in 2017. It has since become a popular meeting place in the village. Almost ten years later, many residents were missing from the wall and the temporary structure needed replacing.
The new selfie wall grew from an idea during Bloeiwike. Local residents chose it as the winning village project. A total of 555 residents provided a photo. Together, they form the face of the villages.
The photos appear on the silhouette of the three villages. You can recognise the bell tower of Idzegea, the church in Sandfirden and Doris Mooltsje in Oudega. The portraits are arranged like a barcode.
A Frisian poem is displayed on the wall.
