Museum Warkums Erfskip is housed in the old Waag building in the center and tells more about the history of Workum and its surroundings. It is the starting point to discover and admire the highlights of the beautiful city of Workum.
The museum recently opened an annex in the former city hall of Workum. The permanent exhibition 'War and Resistance in Workum' is located in the attic of this beautiful building. Here you experience, through stories and memories, life during the occupation time. You are also confronted with choices that you sometimes had to face during wartime. The scale 'right or wrong' is a good example of this.
In addition to the story of resistance woman Tiny van Workum, other stories are also told in an appealing and gripping way. Such as the crash of the Lancaster bomber, the raid on the town hall, the printing of the resistance newspaper BBC news and the life of the NSB member Rintje Haagsma.
