What is special about this windmill is the poem that can be read on the foundation plaque. This foundation plaque was created by the miller who was responsible for the construction and dates back to 1821!

Over the years, the windmill has been owned by many different individuals and organizations. In 2019, the ownership of the mill transferred from the municipality of Súdwest-Fryslân to the Mill Foundation Súdwest-Fryslân, making them responsible for the maintenance of the mill.

In 2021, the mill celebrated its 200th anniversary. It is still possible to visit the mill; for current operating days, please check the website.
