The sailing ship Middelsee is a tjalk dating from 1899, with which we make unforgettable trips on the Frisian and Groningen inland waterways and the Wadden Sea. Our home port is Dokkumer Nieuwe Zijlen, right by the locks to the Lauwersmeer.

The sailing ship Middelsee is a tjalk dating from 1899, with which we make unforgettable journeys on the Frisian and Groningen inland waterways and the Wadden Sea. Our home port is Dokkumer Nieuwe Zijlen, right by the locks to the Lauwersmeer. This place in itself is already a piece of history: in the past, this was not where the Lauwersmeer began, but the Lauwerszee, so we are actually moored in an old Wadden harbour!
Nowadays we sail enjoyable, adventurous trips with up to 16 overnight guests and 25 day guests. On board with us you feel the water, the wind and the landscape from a unique perspective.
