Laaksum is located on the northern coast of the IJsselmeer and is also known as the village with the smallest fishing harbor in Europe. It has only a few dozen residents and consists of a few houses and a farmhouse.
In the past, Laaksum was a genuine fishing village, but the construction of the Afsluitdijk marked the end of fishing activities here.
