The Heempark on the outskirts of Heeg is a beautiful area of 12 hectares where nature has free rein and where you can have a lovely walk and enjoy nature. In this park you will find a number of vegetations characteristic of Friesland, such as a water-rich ecosystem and woods on dry and moist soils. There are also wet meadows and wide fringes of reeds along the banks of the water. And in spring you can enjoy the ‘stinzenflora’, flora specific to former Frisian estates. You will also come across a fruit orchard, sand martin wall, underwater viewing hut, and an apiary.
