It was built by the artist O.C. Hooymeijer to enable visitors to observe birds that don’t exist. The artist has been imagining, painting, drawing and describing fantasia birds for some years.

This little bird-watching hut is a chance to go on a voyage of discovery that combines art, nature, education and humour. You will also get to see real birds because Rottige Meenthe is a beautiful nature reserve!
