Fransje Versloot Studio and Sculpture Garden
In 1997, Fransje Versloot decided to take a completely new direction and began painting. Over the years, her work evolved from partly figurative to increasingly abstract, with nature serving as her main source of inspiration.
Those with an appreciation for nature will recognize familiar emotions in her paintings. Her abstract style, at times subtle and at other times expressive, invites viewers to keep discovering something new each time they look. Fransje's own experiences provide an endless source of inspiration. By working intuitively, she allows herself to be surprised by what emerges during the creative process.
In recent years, Fransje has also devoted herself to porcelain. She is fascinated by the simplicity of its forms and the delicate nature of the material. After twenty years of painting and exhibiting at the Slachtedijk in Joure, she now works from a beautiful new studio beside her home in Terkaple, surrounded by nature and a spacious garden.
Sculpture Garden
The approximately 6,000 m² garden features around twenty impressive sculptures by Frans van Straaten, Emile van der Kruk, Hanneke Roelofsen, Jos Kuppens, Marco Käller, Marco Goldenbeld, Joost Zwagerman, Jan Ketelaar, Nick Vermeulen, and Karel van den Berg.
Several seating areas are spread throughout the garden, allowing visitors to relax, take in the surroundings, and enjoy the artworks at their own pace. Although each sculpture is unique, they all share one thing: they reflect the emotion, dedication, and passion of their creators.
Workshops
Painting workshops with Fransje Versloot are available by appointment. She introduces participants to a variety of painting techniques and teaches them how to work with different materials, each with its own unique qualities and character.
