Ringwiel en Hop
Sandfirden
The road to the beautiful village of Sandfirden is also the endpoint, as you gaze upon the Hop and the Ringwiel.
The road to the beautiful village of Sandfirden is also the endpoint. The road comes to a 'dead end' at the farmhouse on the Vlakke Brekken. From the jetty near the church, you have a beautiful view of the lakes, the Hop, and the Ringwiel. The lakes are part of the Frisian Lakes. You can navigate there through the Aldegeaster Brekken and Flakke Brekken near Oudega. The nature is expansive and tranquil, an excellent spot for smews, pochards, and tufted ducks. In winter, there are many barnacle geese in the meadows. They sleep at night on the Ringwiel and the Hop.
