Experience what it is like to sail a traditional wooden Frisian yacht yourself! The Frisian Tjotter Fleet Foundation organizes an evening sailing trip on De Reiddomp during the summer. You can join us on Monday and Wednesday evenings starting at 19:00, and in mid-August starting at 18:30. The trip lasts approximately 2 hours. You will sail with a minimum of 4 and a maximum of 6 people.
You are welcome to actively participate in sailing. Steering is also an option. In the past, these were ships belonging to wealthy families. Now you can experience for yourself how such a round yacht sails. Everything depends on the weather when sailing. Depending on the weather, you will take an evening trip across the Heegermeer or through the old waterways in the area.
Location
De Reiddomp is located at It Sylhûs at Pharshoeke 101, 8621 CW in Heeg (in the marina). Parking is available directly next to the Heegerwâl marina. Then walk to the SFT_WSH building.
Important to know
- Arriving 10 minutes in advance is sufficient; gather at or around the building (Sylhûs) where the Frisian yacht is waiting outside.
- Life jackets are included.
- Dress according to the weather. The weather reacts to the water and is often colder than on land. And it cools down in the evening, so bring a warm sweater and/or windbreaker.
- If it is too windy or raining too hard, the activity may be cancelled.
