Explore The North Festival 2025 puts hope in your emergency kit
For three days, we want to celebrate stories in all their forms with you. Artists explore with you where beauty and love can be found in a grumbling world. Sing, dance, and sweat with us as we bring hope back to life.
Reconnect with your energy through writers and theatre makers who wake you up with Sinead O’Connor, the little Martians of Spicer, and the comforting thought that everyone is needed, even if it’s just to keep your monstera alive. Audio artists will show you how a chance encounter at a bus stop can change your life. And if that’s still not enough, there are musicians to get you moving with pounding beats, two-stringed basses, harps, soundscapes, spoken word, and more. And if all hope seems in vain, there are always the poets. And of course, you.
Like a firefly, you’ll flit between all sorts of locations in the center of Leeuwarden, from churches to basements to an old prison. Hope is everywhere — if you dare to explore. We’ll send you home with a lump of hope. Chew it, store it in the fridge, or plant it in your garden and see what happens.
