The Sneekweek Fair is known as one of the most enjoyable fairs in the Netherlands. The merry go rounds, bumper cars, shooting gallery, oliebollen stand and many other attractions make it a real family fair. It is also the fair with the most spectacular attractions in the province.
This year, you can once again enjoy a mix of familiar favourites and brand new experiences. Spinning, bumping, winning prizes or simply getting something tasty: it is all possible on the Martiniplein.
The big newcomer this year is the Aeronaut: an impressive 80 metre high swing ride in a special steampunk style. High above the rooftops of Sneek, you float over the city, the fair and the buzz of Sneekweek. It is already spectacular during the day and even more memorable in the evening with all the lights beneath you. For those who enjoy heights and a true experience, this is without doubt one of the highlights of 2026.
Something for everyone
Whether you come with children, with friends or just for a relaxed walk around the fair, the Sneekweek Fair welcomes everyone. Families will find plenty of cheerful children’s attractions, classic games and of course the ever popular bumper cars. Those looking for excitement can enjoy the fast and high attractions. In between, you can enjoy fresh churros, warm poffertjes, candyfloss and oliebollen. The fair smells just as good as it looks.
Low stimulus fair
Would you like to experience the fair in a calmer atmosphere? On Friday 31 July from 19:00 to 22:00 and on Monday 3 August from 13:00 to 14:00, the fair will be low stimulus. The music will be turned off and fewer lights will be on. This way, more people can enjoy the Sneekweek Fair in their own way.
On Tuesday 4 August, the attractions are free for people with a physical or mental disability, together with their companion.
Would you like to take part? Register at the poffertjes stand on Tuesday 4 August between 13:00 and 14:00. You will receive a wristband and a ride card. With these, you can enjoy all attractions for free until 15:00 and tick them off one by one. The card clearly states until what time you can take part.
Vote for your favourite: election of the best attractions at the Sneekweek Fair
During Sneekweek, you can vote for your favourite attraction at the fair. Voting takes place in four categories: major attractions, children’s attractions, games and skill and food and drinks.
The election is organised by the Facebook page Sneekweekkermis. Keep an eye on the social media channels of @sneekweekfeest and @sneekweekkermis to find out how and where to cast your vote. An alderman from the municipality of Súdwest Fryslân will present the prizes. The award ceremony takes place at the poffertjes stand on Tuesday 4 August at 11:30. Everyone is welcome.
