This summer, Leeuwarden is set to host a new city festival: the Verwonder Parade.

On 13 and 14 June, the courtyard of the D.O.A.S in Huizum-West will be filled with music, theatre, food trucks and socialising. With performances by artists including Mayte and Seewolf, as well as choirs, neighbourhood bands, dance and workshops, there is something for everyone to enjoy.
What makes it special is that the festival is organised by and for the people of Leeuwarden. Residents are helping to create stage sets under the guidance of artist Marsja van der Ven. In the run-up to the festival, there will be creative building days. The Verwonder Parade aims to become an annual event and bring extra vibrancy to the city.
