From international stages to intimate churches

Roon Staal’s musical journey began early and has taken him far beyond the Dutch borders. At a young age, he caught the attention of producers in Hollywood, where he was offered a record deal and began recording his first songs. Shortly afterwards, he met music legend Art Garfunkel, who was so impressed by Roon’s voice and presence that he invited him to join his European tour as a support act.

In the Netherlands, Roon built an impressive résumé with leading roles in musicals such as Les Misérables, Tommy, Rembrandt and Petticoat, for which he was even nominated for a Musical Award. Today, he deliberately chooses the intimacy of small venues and churches — spaces where his music feels most at home: pure, personal and close to the audience.
