‘SenTjerra’ with World Music
as part of the ‘Friday Afternoon Concerts’ series
at Cultuurpodium Dorpskerk Huizum, Leeuwarden,
Friday 18 September 2026 from 5:00pm to 6:00pm
Musicians have traditionally often led a travelling life. In that case, a horse or an old car is far more useful than a piece of land. Hence the name SenTjerra, derived from the Spanish sin tierra, meaning ‘without land’.
Three musicians with a passion for music that touches the heart. Music about ‘life’ – sometimes full of fire and movement, at other times enchanting in its tranquillity, leaving space for reflection.
Music filled with Spanish passion or Scandinavian stillness... and everything in between, from French chansons to Irish folk songs. The group also performs songs with Frisian lyrics as well as their own original music.
At the musical heart of the group is Hetty, a singer with a clear, natural voice – a voice that draws you in and won’t let go. SenTjerra’s music takes the audience on an enchanting musical journey.
Vincent van Dam violin, mandolin, percussion
Hetty Zonderland vocals, guitar, percussion
Carel van Leeuwen cello, guitar, percussion
Although the concerts in the ‘Friday Afternoon Concerts’ series are free to attend, a voluntary contribution for the musicians is greatly appreciated.
