Visit Historisch Centrum Leeuwarden and discover all there is to know about the capital of Fryslân. In our Stories of Leeuwarden exhibition, you’ll find unique objects including an executioner’s sword, a 1,200-year-old skeleton, a hoard of coins and film footage from 100 years ago.
There are also several free activities for children. Use an activity booklet to hunt for the coats of arms of Frisian noble families from the Middle Ages. Take an audio tour and listen to stories about children who lived in Leeuwarden in the past. Or pick up a route booklet and explore the city centre in search of historic plaques with fascinating stories.
