Folkskeuken Oekraïne
Leeuwarden
Join us on November 16 for a new edition of Folkskeuken: an evening full of food, culture, and stories. This time, our host, Sophia Kostiuchyk, comes from Ukraine.
Take a look
Due to the ongoing war in the country, Ukraine has often been in the news, and the Ukrainian community in the Netherlands continues to grow. Tonight, we’ll reflect on both the pain and resilience of Ukrainians—but we’ll also look beyond the headlines. Through stories, food, and music, we’ll get to know the Ukrainian spirit, or, as Sophia puts it, “the great heart of Ukraine.”
We’ll enjoy traditional Ukrainian dishes prepared by chef Viktoriia Tkach. Feeling hungry already? Check out her Instagram!
Viktoriia cooks with local Frisian ingredients such as beetroot and potatoes—beloved staples in both Friesland and Ukraine. We’ll listen to poetry and live music. Take a seat at the long tables, meet new friends, and discover Ukraine during this full evening program!
Our tickets operate on a Pay What You Choose system. We want our program to be accessible to everyone, so please choose the option that fits your budget. If you can spare a bit more, you make it possible for someone else to join for less (or nothing at all).
