What if climate change is not an abstract idea, but part of everyday life? Photographer Sacha de Boer travelled twice to Gjoa Haven, a remote Inuit community in the Arctic region. In this exhibition, she shows daily life there in a powerful and personal way.

In the accompanying audio tour, you hear how the Inuit deal with climate change. They connect it to Sila, which in their mythology stands for everything that breathes and lives, but also for the weather and the climate. Sila is out of balance, and people have to move with it.

In SILA, Sacha de Boer shows the resilience of a community that has lived with nature for generations and continues to adapt. At the Fries Scheepvaart Museum in Sneek, where life with water is central, SILA offers a new perspective. On view from 12 September in Sneek.
