On Saturday, September 26, a guide will take you on a special historical bicycle tour starting from Lemmer. Two anniversaries take center stage during this multifaceted tour. It is 125 years since the Joure - Lemmer tram line was opened, and it is 60 years since the famous poet J.C. Bloem passed away. Bloem lived in Sint Nicolaasga for three years starting in 1928 and traveled by tram to his work in Lemmer. During the bike tour, you will discover more about this special connection between the tram and the poet. Along the way, there will also be a focus on characteristic houses and farms, and you will pass various war memorials. The guide will bring the past to life using old photographs. There will be a break in Sint Nicolaasga, where you can participate in a short poetry quiz if you wish. A varied bicycle tour full of history, special stories, and surprising encounters with the past.
