Oan Tafel x Oldehove
During the Oldehove Glow-up, Leeuwarden’s iconic leaning tower is open during restoration. While the exterior is being carefully restored, the inside of the tower becomes the stage for experiences you wouldn’t normally expect. On 4 and 5 September, you can discover the Oldehove in a truly unique way: with an exclusive dinner in and on the tower.
Restaurant Oan Tafel takes you on a culinary journey through the Oldehove. Your evening begins at the foot of the tower before leading you higher and higher through its different levels. Along the way, you’ll discover hidden spaces, enjoy a series of surprising dishes and experience ever-changing views across Leeuwarden. Each floor reveals a new part of the story, culminating in dinner at a place where you would normally never have the chance to dine.
Chef Geert-Jan Vaartjes presents a menu inspired by the New Frisian Cuisine, featuring seasonal ingredients and flavours rooted in Fryslân. This is far more than a restaurant dinner; it’s a unique experience in which the Oldehove is just as much part of the evening as the menu itself.
With only a limited number of seats available each evening, this is a rare opportunity to experience the Oldehove like never before. Curious what it’s like to dine high above the city, surrounded by an iconic monument in the middle of its restoration? Then this is an evening you won’t want to miss.
