Oan Tafel x Oldehove
During the Oldehove Glow-up, our iconic leaning tower is open precisely because it is undergoing restoration. While work continues on the outside of the tower, plenty is happening inside that you wouldn't normally get to experience. On 4 and 5 September, you can discover the Oldehove in a truly unique way: with an exclusive dinner inside and on top of the tower.
Restaurant Oan Tafel takes you on a culinary journey through the tower. You'll begin the evening at the foot of the Oldehove before making your way up one floor at a time. Along the way, you'll discover unique spaces, enjoy a selection of dishes and see Leeuwarden from a new perspective with every course. Each floor tells part of the story, culminating in dinner at a location where you wouldn't normally have the chance to dine.
Chef Geert-Jan Vaartjes cooks according to the principles of the New Frisian Cuisine. Expect surprising dishes, seasonal ingredients and flavours found close to home. This is no ordinary restaurant experience, but an evening in which the Oldehove plays just as important a role as the menu.
With only a limited number of places available each evening, this is a unique opportunity to experience the Oldehove in a way that is unlikely ever to be repeated. Curious what it's like to dine high above the city, in the middle of a restoration project and with panoramic views of Leeuwarden? Then this is an evening you won't want to miss.
