Ceramics course; wheel throwing and handbuilding (10 lessons)

Would you like to work with clay every week, improve your wheel throwing skills, and learn the basic handbuilding techniques? In this course you work in a small group in our studio in the Blokhuispoort in the heart of Leeuwarden.

Who is this for?
This course is for you if you have never thrown on the wheel and want to learn step by step, or if you already have experience and want to deepen your skills in form, technique, finishing and glazing.
Interested in stoneware or porcelain? We also offer an advanced group on Tuesday evenings.

What will you learn?
- Wheel throwing: centering, pulling up the walls, trimming, shapes and series
- Handbuilding: pinch pots, coils, slabs, molds
- Finishing: decoration, engobe, (under)glaze, basic glazes

Lesson times (you can indicate your preference)
- Monday morning 09:30–12:00
- Tuesday afternoon 14:00–16:30
- Thursday evening 19:00–21:30
- Saturday morning 10:00–12:30
Advanced (including stoneware and porcelain)
- Tuesday evening 19:00–21:30

Joining the course
You can join as soon as a spot becomes available in a group. At the moment there is a waiting list, so please sign up in advance. Waiting times differ per time slot. When a spot opens up, we will contact you.
If you miss a lesson, your lesson shifts by one week. You can miss up to 2 out of the 10 lessons.

Costs (incl. VAT)
- Ceramics course (10 lessons): €375
- Firing: €9 per kg of clay to be fired (earthenware)
