During this weekend, Stavoren is all about Swim4Brains. Swimmers, coaches, skippers, crew and volunteers come together for a sporting challenge with an important goal: raising funds for the Hersenstichting and drawing attention to people with acquired brain disorders.
The weekend starts on Friday evening with participant registration. Saturday 22 August is race day. Between 06:45 and 08:30, the swimmers start in waves. The Swim4Brainers are expected to finish between 15:00 and 18:00. Around 18:00, the final fundraising total will be announced and a group photo will be taken.
Swim4Brains is an annual fundraising event for people with acquired brain disorders such as brain haemorrhages, dementia, Parkinson’s disease and brain injuries caused by accidents. With every stroke, participants contribute to research, recovery and support. In this way, Swim4Brains helps people with an acquired brain disorder take part in society again. The event is organised in support of and in collaboration with the Hersenstichting. Swim4Brains has ANBI status.
