Discover the grandeur of the Castle Garden in Rijs.
Come and enter through the special fence and be surprised by what you hear and see.
In the 18th century, Huize Rijs was built next to the Rijsterbos. Huize Rijs is popularly known as Slot, and a park-like garden was laid out around it. In 1937, Huize Rijs was demolished. On the site of the demolished castle, the former castle garden has been redesigned. The contours of the disappeared castle are indicated in the landscape, and the pond, canal, and walking paths have been restored. A striking ornamental fence by artist Ids Willemsma provides access to the English landscape garden.
