Chef Mark van Noord and his team cook with the seasons, using ingredients from local suppliers and producers in and around the Frisian Woods whenever possible. The kitchen brings together honest craftsmanship, refined flavours and surprising combinations, blending French influences with regional ingredients and ideas from further afield.

Wine also plays an important role here. With more than 70 wines available by the glass, every dish can be paired with something fitting and unexpected. The team is happy to guide guests through the extensive selection.

Inside the bistro, warm colours and contemporary details reflect both the landscape and the history of Oranjewoud. The name Marijke Muoi refers to Maria Louise of Hesse-Kassel, a much-loved historical figure closely connected to the area and remembered in Friesland as the “aunt of the people”.
