De Timmerwerkplaats was renovated in 2024 into a comfortable and stylish guesthouse for eight people. You always rent the entire house, making it ideal for large or multiple families. The furnishings are sustainable, with solid wood furniture from Pilat&Pilat.

Downstairs, you'll find a spacious, inviting living room with a large dining table, a modern kitchen, and French doors leading to the waterfront terrace. Upstairs, you'll find two generous family rooms, each with a double bed, a bunk bed, and a private shower and toilet. The modern extension offers an additional room with a double bed downstairs, a second double bed on the mezzanine, and another private bathroom. The house is surrounded by a spacious garden with a terrace, bordering a quiet waterway.

Location
Guesthouse de Timmerwerkplaats is quietly situated in the Frisian village of Ferwoude, a small terp village in the middle of the meadows.

The farm is a national monument and was previously part of a museum. Entrepreneurs Gjalt Pilat (Pilat&Pilat furniture collection) and Steven Sterk (publisher Bornmeer and Ramsj books) have restored the building to its former glory. With and out of love for the cultural heritage. The farm has been renovated and restored with the greatest care, where modern architecture, design and history reinforce and respect each other. Luxurious accommodation in a national monument and (old) museum is a true experience.

The village of Ferwoude is located just north of the Eleven Cities city of Workum, known for its cozy atmosphere, the Jopie Huisman Museum and lively terraces. In the immediate vicinity you can enjoy beautiful walks, cycling and sailing. Furthermore, the IJsselmeer coast is a short drive away, which offers many water sports options.
