The Blokhuispoort is the well-preserved old prison of Leeuwarden. Nowadays you will find all kinds of (small) entrepreneurs here who have a studio or shop in the cells of the H-Vleugel. You can also follow various workshops in the Blokhuispoort (by appointment).
One of the shops in the Blokhuispoort is Insanely Fun! The name says it all, you can shop there for amazingly fun and cosy, beautiful gifts. A visit to this store is a real living room experience. This shop is located in the former board meeting room in the old Bureel Building on the H-Vleugel. The H Wing used to be the house of detention.
After (work) shopping you can relax in one of the restaurants for a snack or a drink. And have you seen the library? That is really recommended!
